Grading

Lots graded, fill placed and compacted, water sent where it should go

Free EstimateSarasota & the Gulf Coast · Open 7 Days

Concrete is only as good as what is under it, and on the Gulf Coast that is sand, shell and, after a summer storm, water. We grade lots and pads with our own skid steer: cutting high spots, bringing in fill and compacting it in lifts, setting the sub-grade for a slab or driveway to the right elevation and fall, and shaping the yard so runoff goes to the swale and not into the garage. We do rough grading for new construction, finish grading for lawns and drainage fixes for the yard that floods every afternoon in August. It is also the first step of every slab we pour, and we would rather do it right than pour over someone else's soft spot.

Our Process

1

Shoot the Grades

We check the existing elevations against where the slab or the lawn needs to end up.

2

Cut & Fill

High spots cut, low spots filled, fill compacted in layers so it stays put.

3

Shape the Drainage

Fall set away from every structure and toward the swale, the drain or the street.

4

Proof-Roll

Compaction checked before any concrete goes on top — the part most people never see and always benefit from.
